- Here are all the torque Specs you will need for the small block Chevy
- 65-70#
- 65 ft. lbs starting from the middle and working out if high performance go to 70 ft. lbs.
- 80 - Get the shop manual
- Try summitracing.com for the correct specs. They have lists for all that stuff.
- 70-75 ft lbs. be sure you go in the right order. and torque them in steps. First torque them in order to 25 ft lbs, then start over and torque them to 50 ft lbs, then start over again and finish them off to 70-75 ft lbs. Be sure to coat the threads in engine oil before you screw the bolts in too. The will not torque right if the threads are dry.
- it is 80 footpounds - set in TWO tightens first to 40 inside bolts to the outside of the head in a clockwise rotation from the center, next to 80, same pattern.
- i always go 75 ft pounds,,and have never had any problems with them,,and i have built about 300 Chevy engines in the past 35 yrs,,so i guess i must be doing something right,,besides i own a repair shop,,and i have to be accurate on these things or i get comebacks,,and they cost you money,,hope this helps.,,,also start from the middle and go out,,never try and get all the torque the first round.
- that`s easy its 65 ft lbs
- 65 FT LBS torque sequence 10 4 2 5 7 8 6 1 3 9
