If you import a formula 1 PSP game from Japan would it play on a US PSP in English?

I know that you can import and buy Formula 1 '06 for the PSP but I wasn't sure if it would work on an American playstation portable. If it does work, is there any way to change the language in the game from Japanese to English.

1. i dont know about the language, but yes, it will play. only umd movies are region encoded.
