What do it mean when the fuel injection circuit is open in cylinder 2?

I went to autozone and the pcm that has determined that malfuntion exists in the electrical circuit for cylinder 2 fuel injector?

  1. It means something's wrong with the connection, wiring or injector. I'm no expert, but I imagine you could test the output from the injector connector with a multimeter to see if you're getting some kind of voltage while the car is running or you're attempting to start it. If so, the wiring's probably fine and it's probably a bad injector. I would suspect a dirty connection or bad injector as the most likely causes.
  2. The circuit is not functioning properly, most likely not grounded or you have a broken wire or bad connection on that electrical circuit. Check the wires and connections.
  3. it mean the wire for the fuel injector is broken or open circuit inside bad injector. picture a garden hose fill with water, if the hose is cut in half at certain section, the water will not make it to the other end.
