Do NASCAR fans seem to find the Formula 1 people a little "uptight"?
i've noticed the Formula 1 people come here and try to "badwrap" NASCAR, and the NASCAR fans seem so gracious as not to offend these people. And if you try to ask/answer questions in the Formula 1 section, you have to deal with sarcastic responses. Or is it the small amount of activity that goes on in Formula 1 that makes their fans upset about NASCARs popularity?

- F1 fans are obnoxious eurotrash pricks. they're no different from european soccer fans. for some reason it bothers the hell out of them that americans see their sport for the borefest that it is.
- In general the F-1 people are fine. The ones that come into this section continuously asking trollish questions are uninformed and ignorant regarding how Nascar works and how talented the top drivers are. Those people get Nascar news filtered through their F-1 sites, all they hear is Villeneuve qualifies 6th or whatever for a race. they have no clue that the top 35 Nascar drivers are not putting in an effort to qualify or that Villeneuve has been in 7 truck races, 2 steps below cup with an average finish of 27th place. Whenever you answer them with facts they ignore you. It's just a couple of people but they are annoying.
- I catch a lot of hell from the F-1 fans just because of my NASCAR TC status. It could matter less if I were a F-1 driver myself, as long as I DO NOT ENTER THE NASCAR SECTION. If anyone seems the least bit interested in NASCAR they are chastised, ridiculed, and persecuted until they leave the F-1 section. They are also some of the most moronic people on Y/A. They never even seem to realize that there are other "F-1" series out there (I can name 3 off the top of my head). They also seem to have the mentality that all other racing (including A-1 GP) takes absolutely NO talent whatsoever, and that the F-1 drivers must be some kind of Gods to be able to maneuver their cars around a track, and that no mortal human is capable of doing that. I still really don't see the draw of F-1 racing......... There's no passing on the track. The only time a F-1 car passes another is if the teams hold the #2 car in the pits so that their #1 car can pass the #2 car. If you go to a race, you can only watch each car for about 3 seconds each lap as it flashes past the stands. If you go to a NASCAR race, you can see most of the track, and watch ALL of the cars make an ENTIRE lap. If a pass occurs, you can see it. It takes 30 guys 10 seconds to change 4 tires and add 5 gallons of fuel. Hell, the NASCAR crews change 4 tires, clean the windsheild, adjust the suspension, AND add 18 gallons of fuel (in 2 9 gallon cans nontheless), with only 7 guys, in only 14 seconds or so.
- It seems like its only certain F1 fans do that not all of them me i like racing no matter what it is and to me most Nascarfans are more accepting than some F1 fans
- maybe your the one thats uptight your blaming awhole group for what a few bad apples do that ticks you off
- Theres some of them that are, but I like F1 I lived in Europe for almost 5 yrs, I followed f1 when I was there I remember Villeneuve and Montoya when they drove there.. It is sad we don't have a F1 race any longer in the US..I love all racing, but Nascar will always be my favorite form of motor racing.. Nascar Rules!!!!!!
- who knows, I really do not give them any thought at all
- I noticed that Fluffy so I just stay away from there now -- You gotta remember that NASCAR racing and their fans are the, Good ole Boys And JG Race you forgot to mention they also give the driver a drink.. Good answer tho. I liked it
- I find that most NASCAR fans treat us F1 guys poorly. I have been to all of the Indy races and met many people who usually suggest that I am snooty or don't appreciate the "good ol' boys", trading paint, racing. I find that F1 is much more exciting because we see cars and drivers doing more than just hitting each other or driving in circles. Don't get me wrong, I understand that those things take talent, but F1 is the cutting edge of technology, skill, and speed. I find that much more exciting than oval tracks.
- Very true!!!!!
- I think of Formula 1, Cart and their fans as the New York and Massachusetts patrician millionaires. The old money, essentially. They believe since their racing is similar all across the world, that anything new, anything from the South is backwards and not really racing. All the while, NASCAR fans do respect the drivers from F1 and CART (c'mon, the Andrettis, the Unsers). The "good ole boy" hospitality that one can only see in the South translates to how they view drivers from all other styles of racing. While this "new money" respects the old ways, they realize that fans want bumping, rubbing and drafting that only stock cars can provide. Also in NASCAR, it's no so much as the car, but the driver and the crews and the car working together to battle the track. Sorry if this seems a little weird for an answer. But this is how I see NASCAR.
- Fluffy you are 100% right!!
- I don't believe we should stereo type anyone based on their "group". I judge each one individually and answer accordingly. It doesn't matter to me where they come from. I give their question the answer I think it deserves. Go Jr.>>>>
- I only find the F1 fans uptight when they are constantly criticizing NASCAR. They can be really cool people or they can be really mean. Some are, some aren't. I wish some would be a little more mature. We love NASCAR, and they love F1. I wish we could just agree to disagree on both sports instead of them coming over here and bashing our sport.... I've never been over there to see if NASCAR fans do the same.
- Fluffy..... Try and think of them as those 2 olives,in the Crown Royal commercials.....
