What do you think are the best moments of Formula 1 ?
Most people would say mansell or senna. But I wasn't born when they were around so I couldn't see there races. Senna past away in 94. I was born in 93. So I would have been at least one if I saw the his races. But I saw a few races of senna, mansell etc on youtube and they were Brilliant !!! But in present Formula 1 or past I would say the best moments would be Massa wining his first race ! He was crying and he hugged schumacher ! What do you think ? neilgtti we have 4 brits !

- the start and the crashes
- when they crash the rest is boring same old crap
- recent history - i would have to go with Jenson's first win. it made all our local papers and the whole area was on a high. we live not far from where he's from (Frome) so we affectionately call him our local lad. i used to really enjoy the senna/prost rivalry and old nige was a great fave of mine too. also another high point for me was when Damon Hill won the championship.
- I think the old days of formula one were the best. Like you say, Senna, Prost, Mansell and of course the rivalry between Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill. New rules and regulations mean the sport has lost its excitement. For me, Hill winning the title was my favourite.
- In recent F1 history it has to be the signing of Lewis Hamilton to the McLaren team. At least now we have a Brit in competative machinery to cheer on. Unfortunately the racing is a bit dull to say the least. I'm sorry to say you've missed the golden years of the Senna, Prost, Mansell era. In my point of view Senna was the best driver ever!
- It's a pity you're not old enough to have seen F1 when it was better. For me the 1991 Barcelona race contained the most exciting TV shot where Mansell & Senna went flat out wheel to wheel all the way down the start/finish straight, and Mansell got to the corner first. Many drivers, when Senna came up behind, seemed to be intimidated and got out of his way, but Mansell was a real racer, and wouldn't get pushed around. Therefore anything involving Nigel Mansell was pretty exciting. Like "Boiled Egg" has said, so many changes over recent years have spoiled F1.
- I started watching F1 in 1995 but i have watched a hefty amount of the old FIA tapes and by god have i missed out. My favourite F1 moment was Hungary 98 when Schumacher beat the much more sophisticated McLarens using his skill, determination and Ross Brawns brain. I can watch Senna and Mansell in the last 20 laps at Monte Carlo in 1992 until my eyes give up! Brilliant, Brilliant Brilliant driving. THAT is how its done! Its not the same the cars are dull The tracks are sanitised-even the greats have been curtailed the drivers are sanctioned as to what they can say F1 is killing itself!!!
- I totally agree with you about the present. Massa is a great bloke and was underrated for a long time. In historical terms I think we are all prone to look back at the years that kindled our interest in the sport. For me it would be the 70's The race I best remember was the 1978 International Trophy at Silverstone which was run in a rain storm. All the then big names spun off leaving Fittipaldi in a Fittipaldi (not the best car in the world) and Rosberg in a Theodore ( an even worse car). They kept control for lap after lap with Rosberg getting his first F1 win. Magic !
- I was born in '88 and I have been watching F1 races since I was 8 years old, so I didn't see Senna, Mansell, Nigel...I've heard about them, I've read about them. I know almost nothing about that moments. The funniest and the touching moment which I had ever seen was the one when Trulli had his first victory at Monaco in 2004. That was a really tough race and the finish was unexpected. The worst moment which I had lived was the one when Schumy announced his retret last year. I've never been his fan but in that moment I started to cry...
