do points swaps seem fair or just promote poorer racing? i hate this more than even the lock for the top 35.?
i thought the lock for the top 35 was a weak way to decide who would race. i would like to see the best prepared teams make the race. but having said this i think being able to switch points is really a farce. the only product that nascar should worry about being on the track is the product that can perform the best and make racing better. that product is the drivers and teams themselves. if you can't be competitive, you shouldn't want a free pass. i have enough pride in competing that i would never want to push out a better competitor because i could have a free pass. some drivers seem happy to just take a sunday ride, and keep more deserving people out of the race. shame on these guilty parties. i am losing alot of respect for some people i had always respected. come on guys, show some pride and do the right thing.

- Points swaps just help the multi car teams at the expense of the single teams.
- I agree with you up to a point. I agree with you on the top 35 guaranteed in the field is bad. I agree with you about point swaps as bad. The teams, however, are simply following NASCAR's rules. It's up to NASCAR to change the rules and close the loopholes so teams can't manipulate the rules to their advantage. It remains to be seen if NASCAR has the backbone to do so.
- I totally agree with you. Swapping points screws the little guy...as does the top 35 thing. It's all about top names and toop $$$$$$$. Go Jr.>>>>
- Swapping points pre-season is bad enough. Doing it once the season has already started is ridiculous. Is someone actually going to swap points? Last thing I heard was that Petty Enterprises had decided against it.
- It is cheating to me. Abuse of the system is the same thing as blatently cheating to make your car perform better. NASCAR should not allow it and I am happy that both teams is question (Roush and Petty) have chosen not to do it. When Sam Hornish falls out this week, I only hope Penske will not do it again. He was already given a free ride once.
- To me... Qualifying is the best way to get in to the show and if u can drive and finish in the top 35, then u deserve to not have to worry about the qualifying bull. GO # 9 Kasey Kahne
- swapping points seems like somebody trying to cheat to me. If teams on the bubble can swap points so someone can get in a race, then teams could swap points so the favorite/better driver could get in the chase, or even swap points at the end of the year so someone in particular could be the champ. (Doubtful either scenario would happen, but hey.) Whatever. Deal with the points you earned and stop whining already.
- That rule needs to be changed, but I dont entirely think that it should just be gone completely how about the top 15 or 20? It would make more sense if say the points leader crashed during qualifying and wasnt a past champions provisional that he would still be able to race and not get sent home. No one would like that. I think letting the drivers switch points can be a good thing or bad thing depending on how you look at it. It guarantees new drivers make the race and get valuable experience where as they might struggle in the Nationwide series and never make a race. Take Penske, they gave all of Kurt Busch's points to Hornish because Busch is a past champion so he would be guaranteed a starting spot and they wouldnt have to worry about Hornish being sent home at least for the first five races. Now had Busch not been a past champion they wouldnt have done that because what if Busch got sent home and what if Hornish got sent home? That wouldnt work out so well for the organization. I dont really think its necessary because it just sends more drivers home and it just makes for more competition. They could get more experience driving in the Nationwide series and not send as many guys home so I guess it just depends on how you look at it.
- I dont like the points swap at all, I just dont think its fair to the rest of the drivers or teams, but its their business and if Nascar approves it, I would do all I could too to make sure my sponsors I have make it into the races at no expense. All is fair in money and war I guess.
- points swaps aren't fair, but as long as nascar allows it, how can you blame the owner for putting all his cars in? Penske can't make Hornish a better Nascar driver if all the track time he gets is two laps of qualifying and an hour of practice.
- It is absoulutely rediculous! If the driver can't get his car in the top 35(which is way too many if you ask me-maybe lock the top 10 in-if that w/ no champion provisionals) then he probably shouldn't race if he isn't fast enough to qualify. Look at K. Petty for an example-all that he has been for the last 2 races is a moving road block, finishing multiple laps off of the pace without any mechanical problems or being involved in a wreck!(no disrespect intended)
- I think the fastest 43 should race each week--The owner swap points is a MESS!!!!!
- They suck
