APS Racing Products

what is the best baby product for a mixed race baby? one that is very sweet smelling.?

i want something sweetsmelling and very good for my baby's skin. please note that the baby is mixed race. i do not like using johnson products because every baby uses johnson products I think people are perceiving me wrongly because of the wording of the question. I have been told by a close friend of mine that some baby products make the baby's skin dry up especially if the baby is mixed race. I am a first time mother and i really want my baby to have a healthy skin.More over my problem with johnson baby products is that, it is tooo common and i have tried so hard for this child that i want her to be very unique and as such smell unique too. I am really sorry if i came across as a snob. it is just ignorance and anticipation really. afterall i am due in 6 weeks.

  1. I don't think it matters that the baby is mixed.
  2. having an interracial baby doesnt make your baby different from anyone elses baby...you are not that special.... also, if your baby isnt sweet smelling just smelling like a baby then what are you feeding him/her??? babies smell good!!!
  3. All babies are members of the Human Race. What difference does it possibly make that "every baby" uses Johnson products? They are the best on the market.
  4. It doesnt matter if your baby is mixed race. If you dont like johnson products try aveeno products.
  5. What the hell are you talking about there is no such thing for mixed race baby product on the market. Your crazy!
  6. Personally I love the johnson and johnson fussy baby lotion, it smells heavenly. You can try little goat's milk lotion, but they don't have any perfume to them so it doesn't smell sweet or anything, it's just straight forward lotion. Also, huggies have baby lotions too. But if you look for the "fussy baby" lotions they are made with lavendar and they smell really nice. As for the mixed race baby ... i don't understand why that even factors into the choice of lotion, but hey those are my choices anyway.
  7. You sound incredibly ignorant.... as a black woman, I'm scared for your baby..... it's possible that you're just extremely young but my advice is to read more.
  8. I LOVE California Baby and Burt's Bees products. I understand how you feel about every baby using Johnson and Johnson. That stuff is chemical crap, anyways. I have an interracial baby, too. :) Good luck!
  9. Not sure which races your baby is mixed with, but CarolsDaughter.com has great products for african american babies (and women) with unique fragrances. It's also all natural. I know some women with biracial children that uses her products. You can order online or click on locations at the bottom of the screen to find a retailer near you. Good luck.
  10. All of the Gerber Grins & Giggles products smell fantastic! I had a hard time deciding between the Oatmeal and the Milk/Honey. I actually ended up buying some of the lotion for myself! If your baby ends up having dry skin, Aveeno products are really good for that! Good Luck and head to walmart and start smelling the grins & giggles!
  11. I have never heard of a product dring out a babies skin because of being a mixed race. Every babies skin is different. You can use Aveno baby products if you don't want to use johnson and johnson. Aveno is made from oatmeal. Also instead of baby oil you can use olive oil and it wont harm the baby.
  12. I think your question is fine. For a newborn I would advise to use a product that has a scent to it. Regardless of the race of the child, they tend to have very sensitive skin. I also, feel regardless of the age of the child (or even adult) I think a parent should look into a natural product. The one I love is California Baby. They have a supper sensitive formula, that is very natural. It has nothing "strange" in it. I also has no masking perfumes in it. So, you smell what is in it. I used this for two years with my daughter. I tried to move her over to the calming baby wash (very nice smelling), but her skin is still sensitive (mine is very sensitive as well) so I went back to the supper sensitive one. The other product I love is Erbaviva. They sell it at Target as ErbaOrganics. I love it!!! My daughter can handle the baby lotion and it smells very good. I also use the lotion for myself. You might just have to try a few different products to find one that works well with your babies skin. It took me 4 tries to find a good one. Good luck!!! Enjoy being a new Mom!!!
  13. Well newborns are not supposed to smell sweet. Their skin is very sensative and perfumes are not good for their skin. If you dont like johnson and johnson try huggies products they have shea butter and lilac or i think the other one is aloe vera. But if the products smell sweet that may cause your baby to have an allergy and let me tell you allergy tests are no fun. They have to inject the allergen under the skin of your baby and they do about 100 different allergens until they find the one they are allergic to. Also you can use baby oil or baby oil gel. My son is also bi racial and johnson and johnson and baby oil and gel work just fine for him. Johnson and johnson also makes a Natural line that smells much different from the origanal pink bottle and it is good for the babys skin. Good luck sweetie and congratulations!!!
  14. my children got really dry skin with johnson's products. i found that baby magic works well and smells great.
