What culture of Tommy Hilfiger ? Let us boycott Tommy Hilfiger products ?
I'm sure many of you watched the recent taping of the Oprah Winfrey show in Chicago where her guest was Tommy Hilfiger. On the show, sheasked him if the statements about race he was accused of saying were true. Statements like"..."If I'd known African-Americans, Hispanics, Jewish and Asians would buy my clothes, I WOULD NOT have made them so nice. I wish these people would *NOT* buy my clothes, as they are made for upper class white people. "His answer to Oprah was a simple "YES". Where after she immediately asked him to leave her show. My suggestion? Don't buy your next shirt or perfume from Tommy Hilfiger. Let's give him what he asked for. Let's not buy his clothes, let's put him in a financial state where he himself will not be able to afford the ridiculous prices he puts on his clothes. BOYCOTT. PLEASE SEND THIS MESSAGE TO ANYONE YOU KNOW . If we are small, then send it to the whole community that's not white people and see the result. We have to see the result of unity. Let's fi

- This is ridiculous and has been proved to be FALSE!! Tommy said no such thing and is not a racist, he appeared on BET and donated money and clothing for the telethon after hurricane Katrina. Kanye West will never say Tommy Hilfiger hates black people.
- No, Let us not boycott Tommy Hilfiger, since all your statements are false. Go to this link: http://www.snopes.com/racial/business/hilfiger.asp This is the Urban References website, and they've been debunking this particular legend since 12 February 2000! Six years. Might want to investigate things before you boycott them.
- I agree with you 100%.
- This is a hoax email that has been circulating for some years and has been thoroughly discredited but it still convinces many recipients that Hilfiger is an outspoken racist. The information in the email is an unfounded rumour. In fact, Tommy Hilfiger has never even been on the Oprah show. Both Tommy Hilfiger and Oprah Winfrey deny the claims in the email. The Anti-Defamation league also investigated the claims and found them to be untrue. Tommy Hilfiger's web site has statements from various sources, including Oprah and the Anti-Defamation league, that comprehensively debunk the rumour.
- I thought his clothes sucked all along and never buy anything from there anyway. I did once own a great Tee Shirt that had the Pillsbury Dough Boy on the front getting his tummy poked on a Tommy Hilfinger background and the Caption on the shirt said "Tummy Poke Finger" it was a classic
- This demonstrates how so many people get taken by the dumbest hoaxes on the internet. None of it happened and here you are trying to start a boycott about nothing. Why don’t contact Oprah and ask her about it. If people simply take what others have said without checking the sources and the assertions, we will get exactly the elected officials that we deserve..
