Why was Mc Laren allowed to stay in Formula 1 when caught cheating. Alonso and Hamilton would still get paid.

It's amazing that Formula 1 management did not throw the book at McLaren. Despite Denis's denial that he was squeaky clean and Alonso and Hamilton stating they were whiter than white the truth was plain to see. Then there is Peter Stephney a supposedly loyal Ferrari employee. Did someone believe he was working against Ferrari. Was the white powder put in the Ferrari engines prior to races by this man. Did the Governing Body not rule that that race was void. They could do it when the appeal is launched by Ronnie Boy. He is still shouting the odds that he is completely innocent. In most racing circles all the staff including the drivers see what is going on. They are all culpable and all should pay for cheating. A blind person could see that the fantistic start after the first couple of races meant one thing. They copied someones design and the planted spy in the camp made it easy. I say now to the Formula 1 Governing Body. Get this right and ban McLaren till next year.

  1. It looks as though hamilton has been stitched twice.
  2. M O N E Y sums it up in one
  3. no offence matey but FERRARI are the biggest cheats in formula one.
  4. There is no proof that they used any info gained to improve their cars. Lewis and alonso were allowed to keep racing for political reasons, they have not cheated and have made this season one of the best for many years. I don't think it would be right or fair to have banned them from this season, besides the sport needs them and the money they generate. It is after all " all about the money". I just hope lewis wins this season, he deserves it Besides it is well known in formula 1 that cheating and spying goes on all the time. The question is really - Why did they pick this one incident to take action ? Some say the FIA have hade it in for McLaren for many years.
  5. I am a true loyal Ferrari fan,but I say don't ban them.Give a less but still very strict punishment instead! P.S Gotta have a little competition
  6. Fair point, but I think they got a more than harsh punishment with the £50 mil. fine and disqualifying them from gaining constructers points. Saying that, why didn't Ferrarri get punished?
  7. A better question would be, why were Ferrari not punished when caught doing the same thing three years ago? Could it be because they were winning at the time? One last thing... If they did copy the Ferrari, they couldn't have done a very good job because the McLaren is the better car!
  8. Easy Dude. See, the snitch was from the Ferrari stable. One may ask why they've been let off scot free. The only ones to gain from all this have been Ferrari. One may thing that they've succeeded in their devious plan. What if they planned the leak. Inconsequential as it has been cause McLaren are nose, neck and shoulders ahead this year anyways. Esp. Constructors. I say, McLaren has been penalised very severely and investigations might just reveal the real cheats. Meanwhile chill and enjoy the race 'Tifosi'. I bet it's McLaren 1&2 again.
  9. It is certainly a fishy affair. You would think money had to change hands for the file to land in the McLaren camp, and presumably the guy who received the file did not pay for it from his own wages. If McLaren paid for it, who authorised the payment? If they didn't then what was going on between the 2 men? In many companies, someone would have authorised it and the policy would be 'Just do it, but don't let me know' from the top. But this does not excuse the management. It's also not enough to hand over signatures saying we did not use the info.
  10. Rubbish! Ferrari have always acted like spoilt kids throwing their toys out of the pram! They always complain when things are not going their way and Schumacher wasn't averse to a bit of cheating when things didn't go his way - remember Monaco last year and the time he swiped Villeneuve when Villeneuve was winning the championship. And remember when McLaren were winning championships with Mika Hakkinen - they had a very fast and reliable car then. They did it then, and they are doing it now. They don't need Ferrari technology to win races - they have their own. And Ron Dennis has said anyone can check their cars for Ferrari technology and they won't find any. This penalty is far too harsh and I agree with Jackie Stewart and Murray Walker when they say that there is a witchhunt against McLaren and Ferrari are leading it. Their cars are losing the reliability they had in previous years, and they don't want anyone else winning races. Ferrari will start on BMW next, you see.
  11. Because the FIA and SchMACKER cannot stop Hamilton, the new boy wonder that doesn't cheat!!!
  12. It is a bloody mountain out of a molehill. I have knicked good ideas from competitors in the power generation industry, and when I designed a whizzy box of tricks that cranked up a power station, someone bought one and copied it. Such is the nature of business It is only an adjustment to a lousy gearbox. What is all the fuss about ? Bob
  13. its a scandal that mclaren and their pilots didn't ban from F1.
  14. First of all, there was no proof that the Mclaren team used those documents to their advantage! Second, I can see the majority of the people answering the question have also questioned why the Ferrari team weren't punished like I've been asking myself that too! This is all about favortism here! The FIA will agree with Ferrari anytime over any matter! I'm a Mclaren fan and I still support them!
  15. easy one to answer ,Bernie Ecceston wants more money and Lewis winning the championship will give him more money from TV coverage, sponsors, etc case closed!
  16. I wonder how much this will damage the car for next year?
  17. Why the heck should Ferrari be punished? They were the team from whom the information was stolen. If someone stole something from your house, would you expect to go to prison for it? I think Ferrari honestly believe they have been the victims of theft. I'm also inclined to believe Ron Dennis when he says that McLaren as a team didn't know about it. The guilty parties here are Coughlan and Stepney. They're the ones who have brought F1 into disrepute. Whichever way the verdict had gone, F1 would have lost, and I am very angry about that.
  18. why in the past have ferrari got off with cheating , the question is who is in the ferrari pocket when it comes down to so called judiciary who run the shambles called f1, there are no bigger chancers than the beloved ferrari mafiosi
  19. I'm sick of saying this but this whole scenario stinks. McLaren Mercedes have been racing in a car which has gleaned illegal information from a rival and been superior to them all season. For them to benefit either by winning the constructors or drivers championships would be a complete mockery. The fact they have not been thrown out of the WHOLE Formula One World Championship for cheating is an anomaly. If the car contesting the constructors title is ILLEGAL then isn't the cars the drivers are contesting the drivers title in ALSO illegal? Yes, Ferrari have been the biggest cheats in town for an inordinately long time and i'm sure one day they will get theirs, but, as all the wizened heads are saying, cheating is RIFE in F1, why should McLaren suddenly be the paragon of truth and all that is honest? It stinks and its a sh!tty way to end what has been a fantastic season.
  20. mechelle I totally agree with you on this one! Biggest cheaters EVER!
  21. Because they have loads of money to bribe the authorities with, plus there is not any other competition available. Not only that, but think of the sponsorship F1 would lose if they were dropped from the circuit.
  22. 'Cause Lewis Hamilton equals money and sponsors!
