How does fuel injection work? I was wondering why there is a point of "best performance" on the fuel injection cars. I understand why is that if you floor the gas pedal on a carburetor car it goes slower - because the carburetor gets flooded. But I seem to get similar effect on my Mazda Protege - if I press the accelerator a bit too far too soon, it just doesn't want to accelerate. Why is that? I have read http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-injection3.htm

Is a fuel injection service necessary? I took my 2004 Honda Pilot (20,000 miles) in for a check up today because it seems to have lost some of the fuel efficiency. They checked it out, and recommended a "fuel injection service" to clean the fuel injectors. Would a car with so few miles really need this service already? Also, isn't this something that could be taken care of with a gasoline additive?
does the fuel injection have anything to do with your transmission? My jeep is 10 years old and the mechanic just got done working on my car today and he had my fuel injection replaced. I know this can help with gas mileage, but what else would the fuel injection help? does this have anything to do with your transmission, or affect your transmission in any way? For instance, on rare occassions, my jeep will struggle shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear (if I dont let the car warm up first). Will the new fuel injection help this problem? Thanks guys :)

Should I go with a carburetor or fuel injection set up? Hi, I have a 1990 Chevy Camaro RS, I recently droped a 355/5.7L engine in it and now I'm trying to decide what would give the car the most performance/power, an Edelbrock 600-650cfm carburetor or a Holley fuel injection set up? I currently have a broken carburetor on it but when the guy installed the engine he didn't completely redo everything for it to be carbureted, he just simply put a fuel regulator on the fuel line and put a carburetor on it because it use to be fuel injection.

Check engine light after using fuel injection cleaner? Ok, I am a student so I bought a Used Toyota Corolla the 98-02 series LE model, and it has 90k miles on it. It was running like a top, and I had the bright idea that I should clean the fuel injectors for better gas milage. Well, I put it in two days ago, and the more I drive it, the worse it drives. I can't even start the engine without pumping the gas, and it stalls when breaking and dies. I used a 75k mile gumout formula, and followed the instructions to a 't'. near empty gas tank, put it in the gas tank, then fill with gas. Well Now the check engine light is on, and the car isn't moving well. So i went to the pump to try and dilute the injection cleaning solution by adding 2 gallons of 91 octane gasoline. With little to no effect, except 8 dollars gone. Do you think it is a conicidence, should I siphen out the gas, drive it until i can put a lot of gas in it? Please help, thank you. What can I do to fix the problem/ what is the problem?

My 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has issues with stalling and fuel injection. What is the problem? Me and my dad rebuilt the Carburator, thinking the stalling would stop. Unfortunately, the car continues to stall. As of now, we are thinking the fuel filter or the fuel pump may need to be replaced. Also, when the car is accelerating, the fuel has trouble getting to the engine from time to time. These problems only occur when the car is already warmed up. We do not know what to do next, if you guys have any ideas, help me please.

Is there a fuel injection specialist in the house? I have an 86 ford truck with a v-8. It gets awfull gas mileage, and will not maintain speed up a steep incline. I changed the fuel filter and air filter, but it still has the same problem. It has begun to die if I change from either forward or reverse with out allowing the idle to settle. Any ideas?
How high of pressure is there in a diesel fuel injection return line? I know rail pressure in a diesel engine is 15kpsi easily, and I assume there is a fuel pressure regulator attached to a return line that goes back into the tank or back in before the high pressure fuel pump. My question is, if you cut off the flow in the return line, could the pressure build up to the bursting point of the hose?
Can fuel injection hose be used for transmission hose? I got about 10 inches of hose that connects the transmission lines to the radiator. I'm wondering if fuel inj hose would be strong enough and handle the heat for those hoses, or do I have to buy the transmission hose.
Make a returnless fuel injection system? Remove pressure regulator on rail, unhook return line and plug the rail. Add an electric fuel pump and regulator to the fuel rail inlet line. Connect the fuel tank return to the inlet of electric pump.(Saves in-tank pump) Big question is will the fuel pressure regulator maintain constant pressure when the engine is high revving? So, basically what I need a pressure regulator that will raise the pressure when the engine uses more fuel lowering it. Pressure regulators in scuba diving take varying pressure in the tank and maintain a single pressure output. What kind of fuel pressure regulator would do that? If my additional fuel pump is creating significantly higher pressure, then reduced by the regulator why wouldn't it compensate for a pressure drop? ok, ok. my bad, connect the fuel return line to the output of the electric fuel pump to avoid sucking tank air and blowing up my car.
